  1. Hi Richard, well done, certainly makes a change, and i have ‘liked’ even though i got a big fat 0. I must confess also that i have absolutely no recognition of goalie Peter Grotier in Q7. I am surprised that there was not one Q about the fab 3 of yesteryear though. It would be great if we managed 3 points today but even a 0-0 draw would be encouraging against their fast moving forwards i think. Desperate for a GOOD cf though going forward. Regards Michael

    1. Hi Michael

Just a first stab at a quiz – I might continue if it is popular.

How good would it be to have a Johnny Dick or Geoff Hurst? I’ve got a funny feeling that we’ll stick with what we have until the summer.

Palace are a better side than the league table would suggest. We’d be doing well to beat them.

I’m loving this change to Potter at this early stage. The players seem to like it too!

Well do miss Jarrod – hopefully he’ll be back soon.

      All the best

      Richard

    2. One thing I remember about Peter Grotier was that he had a preference for rolling the ball out to a defender – these were the days when the keeper could still pick up a back pass – rather than punt it upfield. The majority of the crowd in the North Bank (where we stood) considered this a high risk strategy – West Ham defence was just as suspct back then – and would yell out for him to “kick it” whenever hehad the ball in his hands. Grotier was clearly even further ahead of his time than Martin Peters as the prototype play-it-out-from-the-back sweeper keeper.
